Brief Description:	The Project handles cases where DNA evidence testing shows clear proof of innocence. The Project does not handle cases that require a challenge to conclusive DNA testing.

Services:	The Innocence Project gives legal assistance to inmates in cases where DNA testing of evidence shows clear proof of innocence. Cases must involve biological evidence, e.g. spermatozoa, blood, saliva, skin, hair. All cases for consideration should be mailed with the following information: a brief factual summary of the case, and a list of the evidence used against the defendant. Do not send any documents until you receive a written request to do so. The project does not accept cases where DNA testing has already been performed with conclusive results, nor can they provide general legal advice or research. Law students handle the cases while being supervised by a team of attorneys and clinic staff.

Mission:	Innocence Project's mission is to: achieve the exoneration and release of factually innocent inmates through post conviction DNA testing, create a Network of schools, organizations, and citizens that will effectively address claims of actual innocence, document and study the causes of wrongful convictions, suggest and implement policies, practices, and legislation that will prevent wrongful convictions , train and educate future attorneys and advocates, and provide information and educational opportunities for the public.
