Services:The Office of the Labor Commissioner will help you if your private workplace (non-government) employer has illegally withheld your wages. They provide a helpful listing of answers to frequently asked questions regarding breaks, firing, overtime, quitting, wages, etc. at http://www.laborcommissioner.com/faqs.htm You can file a claim for unpaid wages by using the form at http://www.laborcommissioner.com/forms.htm If necessary, a hearing will be held. Hearings are held when there is a dispute about unpaid wages and informal discussions to get payment donít work. A hearing allows employers and employees to appear and give evidence to the Office of the Labor Commissioner; then, the office will make a decision on the dispute.
