| Services: | This program only provides a brief consultation (usually 5-10 minutes) with the volunteer lawyer, not extensive legal advice. The volunteer lawyer will try to provide you with background on your legal issue, help you identify what you might do to address that issue and may point out materials that specifically discuss and explain your issue. The volunteer can also provide you with references to a number of legal services that may be able to offer more detailed assistance. Participants should be aware that the volunteer attorney may practice in areas of law that have no relation to your legal issues, so please understand that he/she may have had only a basic introduction to those issues and no practical experience with them. The attorneys in this program have pledged not to accept you as a new client or benefit in any way from their service as volunteer lawyers. Program sign-ups start at 4:30pm on the day of the program. |
