Services:	The Senior Law Project provides legal assistance with the following legal matters: government benefits including Medicare, Medicaid and other health related issues; lifetime planning legal issues such as living wills, homesteads; consumer issues such as enforcement of state and federal consumer laws related to debt collection, fraud, credit access and matters concerning utility service; real property and housing issues including loss of subsidized housing, fair housing rights violations, and some evictions; elder rights law including assistance in elder abuse cases, representation of persons who wish to oppose their guardianship, and general legal advice in most cases concerning discrimination against elders. This agency also certifies applicants for reverse mortgage products and assists clients in restoring mortgages out of foreclosure. The related organization, Washoe County Senior Citizens Center also provides tax preparation assistance, 775-328-2575.

Mission:	The Senior Law Project (SLP) is a non profit legal program operated by the Washoe County Department of Senior Services. The SLP provides legal services to elderly (60 +) residents of Washoe County without charge. The project provides counseling and representation in a wide variety of cases.
