| Services: | If you suspect that you have experienced illegal housing discrimination, you may contact the Silver State Fair Housing Council (S.S.F.H.C.). The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, family status, or disability. It is illegal to discriminate in rental, sales, lending, and with respect to homeowners' insurance. Discriminatory advertising and harassment are also prohibited. S.S.F.H.C. will assist you in finding out about your fair housing rights, but they cannot provide legal advice. S.S.F.H.C. provides referrals for people who may wish to file a housing discrimination lawsuit or who wish to be represented in the HUD complaint process. They also help persons with disabilities who request reasonable housing accommodations and modifications. |
